Company History

It began in 1973 when Alarme St-Cyr was founded by its president, Mr. Pierre St-Cyr, who was at the time studying electronics at the CEGEP de Shawinigan. The company then started to sell, install and repair alarm systems in the Mauricie region. The company has grown steadily from that point on:

  • First control center specifically for alarms in Shawinigan inside offices occupied by a telephone answering company.

  • These are the first steps of the Centrale de Contrôle d'Alarmes de Trois-Rivières. The equipment used is on a direct ESC line and a digital receiver is used for regular lines.

  • Purchase of the company Shawinigan Extincteur. Opening of the store on St-Marc Avenue in Shawinigan. Alarme St-Cyr launches their selling of alarm systems.

  • The company innovates with the purchase of Multiplex equipment for remote monitoring of supervised lines for the areas of Shawinigan and Trois-Rivières.

  • Incorporation of the company Gestions Pierre St-Cyr.

  • Given the increase in customers, the Rolodex system is abandoned and the control center is computerized. With this the staff can have automatic access to client files and thus provide better service.

  • Purchase of an office building on the Boulevard des Hêtres in Shawinigan. At that time, the company has eight technicians and five office workers.

  • Implementation of the DVACS Network which allows the company to offer monitoring service to customers with a high security line in most regions of the province.

  • The brand name of the company becomes Central de Contrôle d'Alarmes du Québec.

  • Purchase of a new building. On December 17th, the alarm control center moves from Trois-Rivières to Shawinigan in a new custom-built building to ensure increased security and better functionality.

  • The company specializes in remote monitoring. Therefore, the installation, maintenance and repair of alarm systems are entrusted to subcontractors.

  • The company celebrates its 25 years of existence with great pride.

  • Purchase of a major active competitor in the Montreal area. The number of customers connected to our control center goes from 20 000 to about 60,000.

  • Purchase of a new building of over 740 square meters (8000 square feet) which includes the administrative offices and the operative facilities now all sheltered under the same roof.

From 1973 to 1996, 3,000 alarm systems were installed by Alarme St-Cyr in the Mauricie region and its surroundings. Currently, the company's functions are centered on the provision of remote monitoring services to alarm companies. To this day, over 250 companies from across the country benefit from the services of the Central de Contrôle d'Alarmes du Québec.
